Green Bay Senior Photographer - Maddie

Early morning summer shoots are my absolute favorite! The light is gorgeous and there's a lovely quietness before another busy day begins. For Maddie's session, we started in a field just as the sun was coming over the treeline. The light was perfect and Maddie was stunning.

I loved every single one of Maddie's outfits. This red dress was a last minute choice and I'm so glad she brought it. It fit her perfectly and was the perfect color red for her.

Lastly, we headed to do some indoor photos with her prom dress. This is a trend I've seen in the past few years that I am loving. The girls are asking to be photographed in gowns and the boys are looking all GQ in their suits. Here's a tip if you're planning outfits for your own senior session; bring something classic like Maddie's white or red dress, something casual that fits your style like jeans and a cute top and finally, consider bringing something formal. This combination of looks will guarantee you a session with lots of variety and looks.

Thanks Maddie for an absolutely fantastic session!

Green Bay Senior Photographer - Michael

I love photographing seniors I've known since they were a kindergartner because you know when you're getting real smiles and capturing authentic looks. Poor Michael, between his mom, Mary and I, we had him laughing, blushing, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. But boy!, did he deliver on his senior photos. We started on the field at Notre Dame Academy and worked our way downtown. Good luck at Madison Michael!

De Pere Senior Photographer - Connor and Quinn

What a fun photo shoot with Connor and Quinn! When I first started my photography business, I was under the impression it would be hard to photograph men. Not so! I find most senior boys to be laid back and relaxed when it comes time to take their senior pictures. I also tell them if they can lean on a wall and put their hands in their hands in their pockets, they have most of the posing skills they need for the session. Because these two are twins, we just rotated back and forth between outfit changes.

Green Bay Senior Photos - Kaycee

Sometimes Mother Nature just doesn't cooperate. On the day that was supposed to be Kaycee's session, I swear there were gale force winds. We met downtown where we planned to take photos of Kaycee and her sister Karlee. The girls' hair was blowing parallel to the ground! So on to plan b, we headed to a wooded spot that was protected from the wind and ta-dah! magic! However, soon the storm clouds rolled in and we decided to meet early the next morning. Thank goodness the next day was a beautiful, calm sunny day. We got tons of great photos. Kaycee was a dream to photograph. As you will see in these pictures, she also has one of the most gorgeous smiles ever!

Kaycee brought along her friend Emily for support and they looked so cute together, I had to take their picture. So, I guess I warning you that if you come along to the session, you just may end up in the photos!

De Pere Senior Photographer - Anna

I first met Anna when I took photos of her for Vibe Dance. I have always loved working with her and was thrilled when she asked me to take her senior pictures. We started this beautiful, sunny summer day in a field with her and her siblings and then proceeded downtown for a more urban background. The thing I love about Green Bay is that you can combine a natural and urban session easily because the locations are just minutes apart!

Here's some favorites from her session:

De Pere Highschool Senior Photographer - Sara

I can't believe I almost canceled this shoot because of possible rain. Obviously, I'm not a weather forecaster but sometimes I feel like one. I look at 3 different weather apps and make a guess. I'm so glad we went ahead with this photo shoot.  Just look at the beautiful light that was around the morning of Sara's senior session!

Sara's beautiful sisters joined her at the beginning of the shoot for a sibling shoot. It was so pretty! After we captured some gorgeous pictures of Sara in the field (I love how fresh a white dress looks in a field of tall grass!), we bounced around De Pere for the remainder. It was a beautiful day spent with a beautiful girl! Thanks Sara!

Green Bay Senior Photographer - Kate and Lucas

I was thrilled to photograph these two seniors! Not only because they are great people to hang out with in their own right but also because their parents are very good friends from Denver and it gave us a chance to catch up. We did Lucas's session at St. Norbert one day and Kate's at the Green Bay Botanical Garden on another. After Kate's session was done we met the entire crew for family photos.

Thank you Hoffman clan! It's always a great time when we get together!

Green Bay Senior Photos - Ryan

Ryan was so easy to photograph! He is laid back and has an easy smile. We started at St. Norbert College. I love doing sessions there because it provides beautiful college buildings as backdrops as well as the gorgeous Fox River.

After a short rain shower mid-session, we headed over to the Mel Nicks Sports Complex just a few miles away. Ryan is an awesome baseball pitcher.

Ryan's sister, Erin, was one of my very first seniors back in 2012. A couple of years later I photographed his older brother Sean and now, finally Ryan. I loved working with everyone of them but I hate how fast the time has flown!

Green Bay Senior Photos - Lauren

Lauren actually had 3 sessions during her senior photo shoot; we started with a mini session with her two sisters, then we started her senior session which got cut short due to a storm that came rolling in but were able to finish the next day which blessed us with beautiful weather and light. Here's the favorite sister

jill_hogan_Green Bay_senior_photography (1 of 1)-2.jpg

I love this one. A mini family session is included with all my senior sessions. It's the perfect time to update family photos and get your Christmas card photo taken care too!

Next, we continued on with Lauren's session at various spots in downtown Green Bay.

Green Bay Senior Photographer - Molly

As I write this, my summer/fall schedule for 2019 seniors is almost full but before I start looking ahead too much, I want to feature some of the amazing seniors from 2018 (yes, I stink at social media but hope to showcase all my seniors by the end of this school year)!

I loved Molly's session. She wanted a combination of indoor and outdoor locations for her senior pictures. We started with the beautiful dress below inside. I love the white on white tones and the elegant but comfortable way Molly pulled this dress off.

Next we headed downtown and bounced around approximately a four block area to mix up the locations and to coordinate with the outfits. This is one of the reasons I have my seniors send me photos of their outfits before their sessions.

This last group of photos is my favorite. Molly had brought along Maddie, one of her best friends. At the end of the shoot we started asking Molly to do quick fire poses almost like a Simon Says game. What resulted were lots of photos with genuine laughs and smiles. It also didn't hurt that Molly is totally gorgeous!

Green Bay Senior Pictures - Grant

I had such a fun shoot with both Grant and his mom that started at Pulaski High School's Saputo Stadium. The stadium was a great backdrop for Grant's football photos as well as his marching band portraits. Grant is the band major for the Red Raiders.

I was fortunate to have also photographed Grant's older sister for her senior photos at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. We decided to finish Grant's session there as well. The Botanical Gardens are a great setting for both senior girls and boys. Here are some of their favorites

Green Bay Senior Photographer / Downtown Green Bay / Sinead

Before I close out 2017 I want to showcase my senior sessions from this past year. 2017 has been one to remember! I am so thankful to have been trusted by so many seniors to be their senior photographer and couldn't have imagined working with better people! One of my favorite sessions of the year was with Sinead. I was thrilled when I found out Sinead wanted a couple of photos in her prom dress. Once you see the dress below, you'll understand why. Sinead had Sarah Miller do her hair and make-up. Professional hair and make-up make such a difference for senior sessions. Her finished look was stunning!

As you see above, we did a lot of tone on tone photos, i.e. the silver dress on a gray background and the white top against the white couch. I love how this little attention to detail draws all the attention to Sinead's face. This is one of the reasons I ask my seniors to send me photos of their outfits so I can pick out the perfect background to compliment their outfits.

After finishing up a couple of looks indoors, we headed to downtown Green Bay for a couple more. What had started out as a cloudy day turned into sunshine and added the perfect amount of warm glow to the rest of the session.

Trying something new | Green Bay Senior Photographer

This year I'm adding a fashion magazine style option to my senior sessions (think Vanity Fair). The past few months I've studied up on new lighting setups, styling and posing techniques. But before I tried it on an actual senior client, I wanted to test it out. So I contacted Maria, a beautiful dancer I've photographed a number of times for Vibe Dance Center here in Green Bay. Maria is toying with the idea of modeling and when you check out her photos below, you'll quickly see how the camera loves her.  For a light and airy look, I had Maria wear a tulle skirt paired with one of her own tops. Hair and make-up was done by Dana Michelle. We also added a bit of air to her hair. I don't think I ever want to shoot long hair again without a fan!

Kelsey and Jesse | Pamperin Park Engagement Shoot

I first met Kelsey when she was opening VIBE Dance Center roughly 3 years ago. We've worked together on head shots, studio shots and yearly photos of her various dance classes and competition teams. It's been so much fun to see her business grow.  Kelsey is a beautiful and kind young woman and I am so happy for her success.

Next week Kelsey and her long-time (11 years!) boyfriend, now fiance, Jesse are traveling to Mexico to get married! Last week, we did a quick engagement session for Kelsey and Jesse. One of the reasons it was quick was because it was FREEZING outside. The other reason is this cute couple is super easy to take photos of!

Beautiful Bride | Green Bay Wedding Photographer

Last week, my good friend and shooting partner, Mary Santaga of Mary Santaga Photography had the time of our lives at an amazing workshop called Walk Through a Wedding. Just as the title of the workshop implies, we got the chance to learn about shooting every aspect of a wedding day. The workshop was put on by the super talented husband and wife team Justin and Mary Marantz of Justin and Mary Weddings. Mary and I are dipping our toes into wedding photography (we work as a team) and this workshop ignited the fire in both of us! Here's just a sampling of bridal portraits I captured on the first day.
